MedVertical

About

Why MedVertical exists.

We build continuous FHIR validation tools for teams that need to understand a result, defend a decision, and reproduce the evidence later.

Why we built Records

It started as a problem of seeing FHIR in context.

André Sheydin spent over a decade as UX designer and product owner for a clinical documentation system at Uniklinik Cologne — used by DCLLSG for CLL trials, later adapted for nNGM, the national genomic medicine network. When that adaptation required mapping the system's forms to FHIR for the first time, he ran into a problem that no existing tool could solve.

Raw resources made the problem difficult to reason about. The data, the profile it was measured against, and the resulting finding had to be visible together. A viewer became a product when the larger pattern emerged: FHIR conformance is a relationship between data, profiles, terminology, and validator behavior — and those inputs do not all change on the same schedule.

Records is the operating layer for observing that relationship continuously, tracing a change to its cause, and preserving the basis behind the resulting decision.

How we work

Four guiding principles.

Evidence, not authority

We produce signals. You make decisions.

Adjacent, not competitive

We add value to your existing infrastructure.

Reproducible, not opaque

Pin the inputs required to re-derive the result.

Honest, not aspirational

We document what exists, not what we plan.
