What we do
How we address FHIR data quality.
We build tools that make FHIR data quality visible, measurable, and auditable. Our first product, Records, is a continuous validation tool for FHIR infrastructure that deploys next to your existing server — read-only, non-intrusive, evidence-producing.
We operate at the intersection of healthcare interoperability and engineering operations. Our work is informed by hands-on experience with German and international FHIR profiles, terminology servers, and clinical data repositories.
Why we built Records
It started as a personal problem — and turned out to be everyone's.
André Sheydin spent over a decade as UX designer and product owner for a clinical documentation system at Uniklinik Cologne — used by DCLLSG for CLL trials, later adapted for nNGM, the national genomic medicine network. When that adaptation required mapping the system's forms to FHIR for the first time, he ran into a problem that no existing tool could solve.
Raw FHIR resources are nearly incomprehensible without context. You need to see the data, the profile requirements it's measured against, and the current validation status — simultaneously. HAPI Validator validates correctly, but it wasn't built for interactive exploration: each resource took seconds, browsing a dataset meant waiting, the feedback loop was too slow to actually understand anything.
So he started building a viewer. Two things became clear: every FHIR engineer he talked to said “we need this too” — and most designers working on medical software didn't know what FHIR was, or that the data model directly constrains what's possible in the interface. The viewer became a product when the insight clicked: FHIR conformance is not a property of data. It's a relationship between data, profiles, and terminology — and that relationship changes on its own schedule, independently of your code.
Records is the infrastructure for observing that relationship continuously — not just at the moment of a CI run or a certification audit.
How we work
Four guiding principles.
Evidence, not authority
We produce signals. You make decisions.
Adjacent, not competitive
We add value to your existing infrastructure.
Reproducible, not opaque
Same inputs, same outputs. Every time.
Honest, not aspirational
We document what exists, not what we plan.
